What Other Options Are Available?

If you’re just itching for that perfect coastal area and a beach near Kuala Lumpur, then you have AirAsia to help you get over that travel/beach bug! Only 2 hours away lie gorgeous islands of all types – from Langkawi to Penang.

The best thing about the islands that are a few flights away is the fact that the transport from the airport to the center is also quite easy and the accommodation is fairly cheap. If you arrive at Langkawi, you’ll be at your resort in about 10/15 minutes by taxi!

If You Want To Go Further Away:

If you want to spend more than just a few days at one of the islands, then we recommend visiting:

  • Perhentian

But only go there if you actually have time to do so as they are usually time consuming. Because after arriving by plane, you need to take a ferry to your islands.

Pangkor Island is also worth visiting but it’s a bit more expensive because you can only reach it by land. It will take you about 4 hours just on the bust to get to the town, then you’ll need to take a ferry – which is very time consuming. If you have time then definitely go for it because the island is for sure worth visiting.
