Bali, Indonesia has one of the underrated yet beautiful beach resorts. Aside from the rich Asian tradition and tropical food offerings, Indonesia is filled with happy people. Locals in Bali are friendly and approachable.

There are daily flights from around the globe going to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar in Bali. From there you can reach Nusa Lembongan. It is almost a secret paradise from the busy urban area in Bali as there’s lot of things to do in Nusa Lembongan.

From the airport, you need to go to Sanur port to ride a connecting ferry ride to get to Nusa Lembongan. There are many ways to reach the Sanur port. The most common and easiest is through motorbike (that is you only travel with only a light backpack), otherwise you can take taxi or bus.

With the bus, unfortunately you have to wait for the scheduled time when the bus leaves and riding with other passengers may halt your travel quite a number of times. But you may enjoy the ride and the scenery as you travel along.

You can also hire a taxi to bring you to the port in Sanur for more convenience. You will be traveling for about 30 to 45 minutes. Taxi usually charges from $13 – $15. So far still cheaper compared to riding a bus or motorcycle. Probably a motorcycle ride will be the fastest to get there but, quite the most dangerous. And passenger is limited.

When you reach Sanur, you can ride ferry boat going to your desired beach destination in Nusa Lembongan. It is quite weird because when you ride the ferry boat in Sanur, you are requested to remove your footwear. Yes, seems like a Japanese culture of some sort, but maybe because of boat maintenance, ferry crew requests all passengers to remove your shoes upon riding the ferry.

Local small boats charges less than the larger ones but it is a bit crowded and feels a bit risky, because there are not enough life jackets distributed. Below is a list of 5 fun things to do in Nusa Lembongan, be sure to check them out.
