Paris Museums Guide

Arts décoratifs is among the wealthiest of all artistic collections in the world. You will find this art deco Museum in Rue de Rivoli. It contains a vast collection of works that span from the Middle Ages to the Modern Times. It is recorded that over 150,000 works are exhibited in the museum. Among the creations that will stun you are ancient ceramics, historic furniture designs, jewelry pieces, and even antiquated toys. Personally, I have great admiration for the armchair that was designed by Pierre Legrain and the dressing table that was made by Eileen Gray.

In addition, you can also check another museum worth visiting is the Musée d’Orsay. It boasts of a number of collections from three other museums such as the Musée du Luxembourg, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Louvre. Most of the works that you will see in Musée d’Orsay are those that were crafted in the 19th Century.

Another museum worthy of your visit is the Musée des années 1930 which you can find at Boulogne-Billancourt which is located in the region of Ile-de-France. It is not your usual art museum because apart from sculptures, paintings, and drawings, you will also find some of the most beautiful decorative pieces and furniture designs inside it. Even some of the blueprints of architectural designs can be found exhibited in this museum. The Musée des années was established in the early part of 20th Century and it provides a glimpse to France’s war period in the past. The works of Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann, Tamara de Lempicka, and Paul Landowski are among the wonders that you will find in this museum.
